Athletics Tauranga Inc.

Athletics Tauranga, Athletics Waikato Bay of Plenty and Athletics New Zealand are committed to ensuring that high standards of integrity and safety are upheld by all persons involved in the sport of Athletics in New Zealand.  This includes ensuring that any allegations of misconduct are investigated, and where appropriate, progressed through the appropriate judicial processes.

Child protection and safeguarding is about the actions taken in response to a specific concern for tamariki and rangatahi who may be suffering, or are at risk or suffering from harm or abuse. It requires specialised children protection services, the police, and expert local organisations that are trained to provide advice and manage cases if they arise.

If you have any concerns regarding breaches of integrity, or alleged misconduct, in the sport of athletics in New Zealand, then you can report those matters by contacting ANZ by email at safesport@athletics.org.nz.

It is essential for everyone to understand that Safeguarding is EVERYONE’S responsibility, not just one individual within an organisation. If you see or hear something which concerns you, report it. Do not keep it to yourself. Do not think that it does not matter or that someone else will deal with it.

THINK “What if I’m right?”..... NOT “What if I’m wrong?”
